It is while here she rented a 3.5 hectare vineyard of 50 year old bush vine Monastrell and in 2015 produced her first wine - La del Terreno. In 2016 she decided to move her project to Bullas and built a mobile sustainable winery from modular shipping containers. True ninjas are always outnumbered, because they are individuals”

This ninja – Ninja de las Uvas – is certainly an individual in every sense of the word. From Laura Casado of La del Terreno in D.O. Bullas, Murcia located in the southeast of Spain. Julia’s first real exposure to winemaking was in Pfalz, Germany while playing cello at a local winery. Falling in love with the art of turning grapes into wine, she worked at wineries in Chile, Uruguay and the legendary Vega Sicilia. When she returned to her native Murcia she joined Casa Castillo in D.O. Jumilla. It is while here she rented a 3.5 hectare vineyard of 50 year old bush vine monastrell and in 2015 produced her first wine - La del Terreno. In 2016 she decided to move her project to Bullas and built a mobile sustainable winery from modular shipping containers.

The Ninja de las Uvas is made from 100% garnacha from a small plot in the Aceniche Valley, the vines are farmed organically and are un-irrigated. Winemaking is carried out without any chemical additions (aside from a little SO2 at bottling), and the wine is un-fined and unfiltered. Explosive, juicy, dark cherry fruit, fresh garrigue herbs and perfectly balanced acidity.
