Influenced by the culture of sip-a-little-bit-of-this-and-eat-a-little-bit-of-that, Tapavino began in August 2012 as Australia’s first Sherry Bar, in a little lane-way in Sydney not unlike something you would find in the cobblestoned alleyways of Spain.
Helped by the beautiful warm vibe that greets you as you step inside and take a seat among floor-to-ceiling wine bottles, Tapavino was named runner-up in Sydney Morning Herald's 'Best New Bar' Awards within 4-months of opening, and
12-months later named 'Best Bar with food'.
Our endless pages of over 300 Spanish wines and 80 Sherries is an important component of our obsession of all things Spanish, and this is the reason why we started Barrica Wines, less than
1-year after opening Tapavino.
A 3-week road trip throughout Spain in May 2013 was the catalyst for our current wine portfolio, and this reflects in our dedication of bringing the most exciting boutique and artisan wines from around Spain to the Australian Market.
